Building A Home

Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts.  Proverbs 4:23

I was standing in line at the grocery store reliving a moment that brought me sorrow.  The actions that took place brought back bad memories and it was as if God was saying “This is why you are to follow me.  Such pain only comes when you stray.”  My daughter was talking to me but I didn’t hear her until it dawned on me that I was letting my feelings control my actions.  When you are upset your whole body reacts and causes you to feel tired, overwhelmed, and sad but it is up to us to steer those actions as Godly as possible by calling out to Jesus to help.  What I saw in my mind was a future of brokenness again; a home that was falling apart.  I have been rebuilding a rundown home I don’t want to tear it down again. It’s the little things that make us very aware of the big picture.  Building a home on a Godly foundation is so important and who you allow into your life determines the pace and strength of your faithful walls.  God gives us what we need but he also gives us free will.  When we forget to ask from moment to moment if this is his will or our own we can become unstable and the wall you just built could crumble or crack.

We are called to renew our minds daily because everything is controlled by feelings whether you agree or not.  When God speaks to us we feel it and when he blesses us we feel it.

There must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes.  Ephesians 4:23

Do not let ungodliness invade your life without a fight.  When we long for something or someone too much we lose sight of what God wants us to see first. Renew your mind with daily prayer and talk to Jesus as if he was sitting right next to you.  When we verbalize what God already knows he blesses us with our surrendering words.
