Love starts with Humility

A Discipler of Christ

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Pride brings a person low,
but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

Humility is the fear of the Lord;
its wages are riches and honor and life.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
but humility comes before honor.

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,
and humility comes before honor.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

The Fearful, Fearless, and Overcomer

There are 3 types of people in this world.  The fearful, whom are rendered paralyzed by their lack of faith, the fearless whom are reckless and arrogant, and the overcomer, whom can be both fearful and fearless but overcomes all obstacles with faith in Jesus and God our heavenly Father.

Which on are you?

Deuteronomy 28:12:

“The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

With all things there is a certain amount of disciple that is required of us.  There is no such thing as free. Everything comes with a price.  With Gods love you must trust and love him first.  We only ask you to give him a chance, we can’t make you surrender but we can offer the tools to help you find your way through his loving way.

Please share this with others and donate if you can. Unfortunately, there are a lot of single parent families in this world but with Gods love we can help restore them and help them find the will to live for God and the gifts he has given them and not just for themselves.

He’s Got This!

The past few days God has shown me that where I belong is in his hands.  He’s got this!  I am officially a non-profit organization helping Single parents with a fresh start in life.

I can start receiving donations and grants to help others and it feels great.  Now is the difficult part of gaining the trust and faith of others through donations to keep us alive.  I hope you will be one of them!

God will take care of all our needs so I know he will speak to the hearts of those whom are meant to reach out to donate and spread the word about our great cause.

Isaiah 49;15-16 See! I will not forget you, I have carved you on the palm of my hands, your walls are ever before me.

Where do I belong?

It may seem strange to some but with all the changes I am going through I feel a sense of not belonging anywhere.  I have been through this before and I lean on the Lord more than ever and K-love and it works.

God is invoking changes that can be scary and lonely.  The desires of my heart are changing and what I need and want are weighing on me more so than usual. I ask myself “Am I working hard enough and am I using my time wisely?”, “What can I do to gain peoples faith in me?” and “Am I where I should be?”.  Seeking knowledge and wisdom to help myself and others as Single parents but praying that my journey will not be so lonely in the near future.  Most people want to have love, and marriage but we are human and it doesn’t always workout the way we had hoped.  However, God uses our choices for the greater good; by falling we have the opportunity to seek him and rise again in his light.  God’s light will reveal all area’s of our life that need to be repaired.

With all the wonderful and exhausting changes I know that I am blessed but I still feel as though I am alone but I know God has his reasons. The one thing I will never do is give up hope.  I may have a bad day but no one’s lack of faith in me will shake my faith in Jesus and God our father.

With all these feelings I had the urge to watch “Baby Boom” yesterday; I love that movie.  It is a funny comedy with love and sorrow and of course a happy ending for a hopeless romantic like myself. We do not always get what we want but he provides us with all that we need.

Isaiah 58:11

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.

Phil 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus..

God’s Not Dead

Gods not dead

Photo from the movie “God’s Not Dead”

As I sat and ate like a Queen for dinner (Grilled Filet and shrimp) with Ginger ale I was enthralled with this movie “God’s Not Dead”.   I had originally planned to watch King Kong but I saw this and said “I haven’t seen it.”   I sat here alone in the wonderful home God has blessed with me feeling so many different things.  Upset one minute because I am without my true love but in the next moment I know God is teaching me something from this good movie that glorifies his name.

It covers a lot of different aspects of life and had me bawling like a baby.  The Atheist Professor (whom is one my favorite handsome actors) is so angry with God because he felt that God took everything from him.  He lost everyone he ever loved so he kept others at a distance even his girlfriend whom he really loved.  He ended up losing her anyway because he turned his back on Jesus and God and because of his anger against the Lord she left him anyway.  Her faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ and God our father was greater than anything else in this world.

The young student whom took on the debate with the atheist Professor to prove that it is our choice “Free will” to believe was amazing and all the students whom listened and received God’s love and took a stand in the classroom to say “God’s not dead.”

I don’t want to ruin the movie for those whom have not seen it but God wins over the evil ways in this movie.

In His Hands

closer to the one front

Romans 12:11
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor.
Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
Isaiah 55:11
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

There is a lot of pressure in this world to be the best of the best and often we put most of it on ourselves.   When we are passionate about things that we are good at we put so much pressure on winning and others who are living through you put pressure on you too.

As a writer I want to become one of the great writers that leave a legacy.  I have discovered, like me, many writers didn’t make a living off their writing they had a day time career that paid the bills.  Attorney/writer Scott Turow wrote his first few best sellers, on the train to and from work, Toni Morrison won a Pulitzer prize for her novels and she worked as an editor in Manhattan, Poet William Carlos Williams was a pediatrician; poet Wallace Stevens sold insurance.

In the nineteenth century, Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote her great bestseller, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, between scrubbing floors, cooking, and raising her children, Nathaniel Hawthorne worked in the Salem Custom House and wrote “The Scarlett Letter” at night, and Lewis Carroll wrote “Alice in Wonderland” and he was a mathematician.

When I get overwhelmed and have doubts about how, when, and what I will write about I think of these people whom I discovered are just like me.

You are not born being great at something, you master it through surrendering your life to the Lord, and letting him guide you through your growth of using your gift for his Glory and through his glory you will shine.

In anything and everything you do surrender it the Lord, do your best, and let God do the rest.

What it takes

I am connected to the world by many social media sites that receive my WordPress posts.  This is a great way to connect with many people.  Although we may be connected or followed we don’t always see the results of business.  I was reading a spam email this morning about that very subject.  I do agree with what the gentleman was saying.   We have the tools but because the internet is flooded we cannot always live off our personal business.

What does it take to make your dreams a reality? To be 1 of the million authors that people stop and read.  I know from other Authors experiences it takes patience, perseverance, passion, and faith in God.

What do you do to make your business thrive? I would love feedback and ideas.
