The Season of Waiting

As I was having a bible study last night I got so excited about sharing it.  The first lesson went over the season of waiting and we all know what that is like but you may not call it a season.  In Ecclesiastes 3:11 it says “God has set the right time for everything.” As I was reminded of this scripture it was the timing of this bible study that was amazing.  I have had the DVD and book for awhile but I hadn’t set up a time to start it until a friend needed me and this was the answer God said use and he was right.  I needed the lesson just as much as my friend did.  God is awesome and I know I can be a little cheesy but I that’s ok, I’m excited.

As I heard the sermon about the season of waiting I looked around and said yes I have been waiting and its been difficult but look what he has done.  God has given me a new home, a new church, new friends, a movie, published books, a great non-profit ministry, a new job, and he has made me more desirable as the one for the one.  God knows my hearts desires and he knows yours; look around and see what he has done and smile.  We all have our bad days of “Why not now?” but just remember he knows best.

Jesus; This is How He Felt

It’s the first step in the path of my day and I see nowhere to put my foot except on the dark water…  God is amazing; I see only what I need to see. “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

Since God intends to make you like Jesus, he will take you through the same experiences Jesus went through. (Warren, R., 2013, p.173)

  • To deal with suffering and problems in life as Jesus did remember God has a plan and that it is good. “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • To deal with suffering as Jesus did, we must rejoice and give thanks in the midst of it. “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
  • To deal with suffering as Jesus did, refuse to give up. “Let the process go on until your endurance is fully developed, and you will find that you have become men of mature character… with no weak spots.” (James 1:3-4)

“You need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.” (Hebrews 10:36)
