Going through the Masters program for my Pastoral Counseling Certificate has been one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. This class has helped me in so many ways understand myself and others from the past, present, and into the future.
When we are faced with problems that we are not prepared for it is important to keep Christ as the center other wise we will only cause more problems instead of creating solutions. Walk the right path as Jesus Christ as your center not your own will and you will not be steared wrong.

By Jim Petersen
In my Pastoral course at Liberty University I came across this game by Jim Petersen called Family Listening Game. Growing up in a huge family of 9 kids you have to really talk loud and fast or interrupt a lot to get your story in at meal time. This game allows each family member to speak and share what is on your mind and heart as the others sit and listen. This game is not only for families; I recommend this game for team building as well. It can be fun and very helpful with bringing those low key quiet people out of their shells. I hope you will try this at home and work and share this game with others.
So many thoughts go through my mind as the day begins. I would love to say I wake up with a smile everyday but I don’t. This morning I wanted to hide under the covers and sleep. My mind said “Get up there are things to do but my body said “No oh so tired and weary.” Well obviously it was mind over matter. I usually do have something to say but yesterday I was rendered speechless other than homework assignments due.
Church was good and ironically the topic was very fitting for that day. We all want peace in life and relationships. When you desire forgiveness and friendship from someone whom is not willingly to give it; well it just humbles you to say “It’s in Gods hands.”
Life is wonderful to me and the idea of someone robbing me of life or anyone else breaks my heart. We only get one chance to live a life on this earth and Glorify God; it is important to use it and appreciate every moment. We go through wanting and desiring things not really knowing what is good for us. God is the only one who really knows what we need because he has the plan. I ask for the blue prints but I don’t get them but what I do receive is hope when I need it most.
Relationships with people may come and go but Gods love is everlasting. Although I wish all of my hearts desires were in my hands I know that God has a reason for keeping things from me. It’s the little things that we must appreciate the most before the bigger things can be given to us.
When you let God in your life, the home you started to build will become a palace of wonderful love through Jesus Christ.
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
