As I was having a bible study last night I got so excited about sharing it. The first lesson went over the season of waiting and we all know what that is like but you may not call it a season. In Ecclesiastes 3:11 it says “God has set the right time for everything.” As I was reminded of this scripture it was the timing of this bible study that was amazing. I have had the DVD and book for awhile but I hadn’t set up a time to start it until a friend needed me and this was the answer God said use and he was right. I needed the lesson just as much as my friend did. God is awesome and I know I can be a little cheesy but I that’s ok, I’m excited.
As I heard the sermon about the season of waiting I looked around and said yes I have been waiting and its been difficult but look what he has done. God has given me a new home, a new church, new friends, a movie, published books, a great non-profit ministry, a new job, and he has made me more desirable as the one for the one. God knows my hearts desires and he knows yours; look around and see what he has done and smile. We all have our bad days of “Why not now?” but just remember he knows best.
Happy New Year World!
As I watched Ed Norton in The Incredible Hulk deal with a great power he didn’t want but was given, it reminded me of why God only gives us so much power as individuals. As individuals with the type of power The Hulk was created to have we would destroy people and things closes to us without even trying and as a group of people it would be catastrophic aka mob mentality.
I have submitted my manuscript and pray that it will be published through this great publisher so that the gift God has given me can be shared in a powerful way. Do not try to do everything on your own. God puts people in our lives with strengths that we do not have to help us grow and prosper in the gifts he has given us. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
No one really wants to be alone it just happens that way sometimes but its what you do with your time that is a test of God’s. God wants to see how you will use your time. Will you use your time wisely and selfless or will you be selfish and foolish? Look to Jesus for help and you will see the truth and love you seek. God wants you to succeed with the gifts he has given you if you use them for good.
There is a theory that I heard but really do not understand. “Feed her and Skinn her” its not something God would do so the only other option is evil. Feed her love and then destroy her soul by keeping from her there very thing she craves and think she needs. Grant it this is when a woman is still suffering from the Cinderella syndrome ways and not seeking God first for her soul mate. My goal is not to describe the actions of this theory or even begin to understand it. God crushed this way of thinking and I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
I have learned through a few people that the belief of not talking to them is for the best. . Not going out of your way to speak to someone is fine when you no longer want them in your life but when you look at them in the eye or walk by them and give them the silent treatment that is wrong. It is not Godly nor would God tell you to do such things. When a person is bad for your growth with Christ then yes by all means do not let them in your life but we must treat others as we want to be treated.
The truth is that the one treating you badly is the one who is killing themselves. The silencer dies with the wickedness and the one who is shunned grows in God’s light. I see others treating people this way and I know personally that it hurts deeply. The only advice I can offer for wickedness that can not be changed by anyone but God and the person doing this act is Gods truth in scripture.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek. They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind. …
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Abstain from every form of evil.
I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things.
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
“You shall not murder.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on your servants!
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, …
The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the Lord has spoken: “Children have I reared and brought up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.” Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged. Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. …
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.
Let him rain coals on the wicked; fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. …
I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.
In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began
Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. …
Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?
A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. …
When you are ready for a fresh start in life you clean house and that means your internal life (body, mind, and soul) and external life (your environment and people you spend time with).
To make changes in the right direction it is important to do 3 things:
- Write a Life Purpose Statement and read it daily.
- This summarizes God’s purpose for your life.
- It points the direction of your life.
- It’s a statement that defines success for you.
- It clarifies your roles in life.
- It expresses your SHAPE; the way God made you. (Warren, 2004, pp.286-288)
- Be willing to change.
- Try new things.
After establishing your statement and embarking on change and new things remember not to do too much at one time. If you are trying to keep yourself busy to keep your mind off of being alone or loneliness I encourage you to find peace through daily prayer and understanding the solitude will help find inner peace. Don’t become a recluse but don’t overwhelm yourself of too many tasks that you can not focus on the healing and finding inner peace with Jesus Christ as your center.
