Forgiveness

In group study tonight at church we spoke about worship.  This brought up how important it is to forgive and love others as Jesus did.

I know from personal experience how it feels to receive the silent treatment from someone you love but no longer wishes to be apart of your life.  Treating someone badly who is kind to you is not good and is not Christ-like.  You have two choices; 1 You can let it run your life and eat you up with bitterness or 2. You can love and forgive as Jesus did.  I choose 2 but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt it just means you can live and walk away with a smile knowing that Jesus is with you and that you are doing what God desires you to do.

Don’t let someone else’s choices control how you live and the choices you make.

Romans 12:1-2The Message (MSG)

Place Your Life Before God

12 1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
